ASCENSION

Sasha Sarago’s growth and development of her design aesthetic and brand image for her fashion magazine Ascension has been exponential to say the least. Her brand ethic first came to my attention only recently but since that short time I’ve developed a slight obsession with her eagerness to aspire, inspire and have a truly desirable multi diverse fashion magazine. Her eye to capture and represent one persons talents and individuality within each person is something that’s really quite beautiful, and passersby, has been hard to come by since.. Well since now. The only others that immediately spring to mind with skills in the same category would have to be an artist with a brush and a blank canvas.

So, needless to say, Sasha’s October issue 2014 extremely enjoyable photo shoot and behind the scenes video that I was so very fortunate to be a part of yesterday will not be one to miss. It was bursting with colourful arrangements of flowers that had me drawn in from first walking through the large glass doors at arrival, and buzzing with a crew that meant business in a fun and flirtatious manner. Throughout the day I worked along side with 3 other gloriously beautiful models all picking and choosing which flowers and outfits would combine perfectly to make the statement piece, which I don’t know if any of you are familiar with, but having your own creative direction within a major photo shoot is hard to come by these days. It also made for a perfect personal touch that wowed. Sahsa insists that no matter how beautiful the pieces are, the pom-pom’s and flower collections appear to brighten up your day and be. Or how stunning the foil lolly style make-up and hair is she insists that the women whom are modelling these extravagant pieces must not wear the women instead the women to be the focal, to be the one item within the shoot which is the most beautiful and most unique. Which I think is mind blowingly refreshing and a leap of accurate faith.

Ahead of posing with a 3kg flower head piece and hand made indigenous jewellery pieces I was quickly introduced to the beautiful team that were on hand to glow me up and enhance my already naturally beautiful features; never trying to change me or my ‘Cara Delavigne’ eye brows as she first pointed out when meeting me. What a compliment I surely took with gratitude.

At the shoots conclusion, I was extremely thrilled with the team work that had been shown throughout the day, how 10 beautiful and inspiring people can come together and work as a team to uplift and encourage one another one, for that, we all achieved the most flawless outcome that could even rival the likes of a flash photo shoot staring Kate Moss and Naomi Campbell.

I’m serious.
