FASHION SWAP

I think I bought my very first dress when I was in year 8. It was the greatest dress and such a beautiful pink colour, it was also the only dress I owned and I only wore it once. At the time I thought I looked like a princess. Looking back at photos now I’ve had a little ‘what were you thinking’ moment. Since I’ve never been a dress or skirt kind of girl, due to the fact that I grew up riding motorbikes and going on long mountain treks, I never really had an occasions in which to wear a beautiful dress. So I decided 2015 would be my year to start wearing cute dresses and skirts, and baby does that dress make me feel like an elegant little lady.

Since putting my Adidas 'man' shorts in the bin and opting for summery dresses and sexy skirts, I’ve worn them religiously. You can wear a skirt for every occasion. If you are feeling a bit punk rocker; team a denim skirt with a branded T and some black chunky boots. If you want to be a little girly - team the denim skirt with a white little spaghetti strap crop. There are endless opportunities. I’ve worn my denim skirt 5 days in a row before (shhhh don't tell anyone) any chance I can get, and with summer well and truly here, I’m going to assume it’ll be making quite an appearance along with my numerous other dresses and skirts.

Prior to 2015, I was notorious for wearing Black jeans, black boots, some form of ‘tom-boyish’ T-shirt and a leather jacket.. I was always known as the ‘motorbikey babe’, it was my go-to look and the outfit I could always get away with. Don’t get me wrong, I still pulled it off every time and it suits my personality and my body, but it got to the point where there were more boys T’s in my closet than girlie clothes . The thought of wearing black skinnies & a T everywhere now makes me want to run down the street screaming, while simultaneously pulling out my hair.

So here is one of the first of many more “girly” posts to come.

What does everyone think about the dresses and skirts?
